Ian Winham
From CFO to Chairman, from CIO to Managing director….
Started out as an accountant with what was Peat Marwick Mitchell (the roots of what is now KPMG). Was incredibly fortunate that it was a general practice firm in those days – so my first “professional” task was running a factory in receivership and quickly learnt that I had a lot to learn! Having qualified my roles covered audit, company tax, personal tax, M&A, consultancy and sales – today all of these tasks are specialist roles.
After KPMG became CFO of the largest European contact centre outsourcer. My role led me from EMEA CFO, to CEO France, SVP Operations EMEA to CEO Global Consulting (living in France and the US). On the Consulting side helped advise and build inhouse or outsourced contact centres.
Then joined Ricoh. Initially as CFO and CIO for EMEA during a period when the business grew from €1bn to €4bn – both through M&A and organically. As CIO led an IT/process implementation across EMEA that saw us standardise all of our back, mid and front office processes and data models whilst moving to a shared service delivery model – a major transformation for the business.
Then moved to Japan with Ricoh. As a non – Japanese Executive had many experiences and opportunities to learn. My roles included running the global captive leasing business, establishing and leading global treasury and global procurement and projects. Latterly this included being parachuted into India for a year as Chairman of our listed subsidiary that had been victim of a multi-millions fraud – this entailed regulator and shareholder communications and management whilst stabilising the business.
Hobbies
Outside work my interests include – rugby, Coventry City for football, skiing, cycling, ballet and opera.
